Project description

We are developing a new image cytometer based on CMOS technology. It allows us to detect and count particles and cells. For example we have demonstrated the detection of E-coli and Legionella in water in a concentration of 0.2CFU/ml. Together with other partners, within the European H2020 project CYTOWATER, we plan to exploit the technology for portable and fast detection of micro-organisms in environmental, industrial and bathing water. We are also collaborating with local hospitals to evaluate the platform for early detection of invasive bacterial diseases, especially suitable for remote areas that lack of clinical infrastructures.
